Medical Microneedling
Microneedling, aka skin needling and CIT, has been used for many years with a variety of devices. The procedure is minimally invasive and creates precise-depth small injuries to the skin. These injuries then initiate a healing response that increases production of support tissue (collagen and elastin). Microneedling, done properly, has been clinically proven to plump and thicken skin, reduce fine wrinkles, stretch marks, scarring (acne, burns, surgical), hyperpigmentation, and mild laxity. As part of our K Spa services, we utilize cutting-edge solutions during and after treatment to optimize repair and regeneration of the skin.
After treatment the skin is red like a sunburn, but this subsides from 2 to 48 hours after depending on depth of treatment. The microneedling treatment is a great option for individuals with darker skin types that cannot be easily treated with lasers or deeper peels because of the risk of scarring and hyperpigmentation.
Our device does not tear the skin as most rollers and other electronic pens do. We typically recommend 3 microneedling treatments for improvement of tone and texture and 5 treatments for scars.
