Lisa Kudrow is a beautiful and talented actress probably best known for her captivating acting role as “Phoebe” on Friends in the ’90’s. Lisa has always been open about having rhinoplasty surgery when she was 16 years old, but recently has revealed that the surgery was truly “life altering.” She discusses candidly how cruel kids were to her in grade school, and how she felt “hideous” prior to having the surgery. While we think Lisa has always been a stunning woman, this just goes to show how much self esteem can be connected to one’s perception of appearance.
Lisa stated that she had the rhinoplasty surgery performed prior to moving to a different high school, so in a sense, it was almost a “new beginning” for her. She has said that most of her struggles with appearance were internal, stating, “I went from, in my mind, hideous, to not hideous.” It is sad to us that anyone could feel this way about their appearance, and it is not an easy issue to deal with. For Lisa, it was rhinoplasty that really helped her feel better about her outer appearance, and later she found her niche in acting.
Double board certified facial plastic and reconstructive surgeon, Dr. Benjamin Stong, who has no affiliation with Lisa Kudrow, quoted, “Judging from the photos, the result of Lisa Kudrow’s rhinoplasty looks fantastic. It also seems as if she is incredibly pleased with the results, as she has said the results were ‘life altering.’ It is always incredibly rewarding as a physician to see a patient so pleased with the results of their surgery.” When surgery can help someone to not just look better, but to also feel better, it is huge.
If you are considering having a rhinoplasty surgery, or other cosmetic surgery, consult with an expert who is board certified and thoroughly skilled in the surgery you wish to have. As we have heard from Lisa Kudrow, surgery can really be a life long investment, as well as life changing.
