It is hard to believe, but Christie Brinkley will be turning the big 6-0 next week on February 2nd! She is undoubtedly one of the biggest super models of all time, gracing the covers of major magazines and being the longest running Cover Girl model in history. Brinkley still looks phenomenal and defies her age at 59. Obviously, she has the super model genes, and has spoken out about plastic surgery in a recent interview with People magazine. Brinkley was asked about “plastic surgery in my 40s and I said ‘Never!’ Now at 60, I’d never say never.”
Brinkley has lived an extremely healthy lifestyle for much of her life. She has been a vegetarian since she was a teenager and works out religiously. She is an avid “yogi” and equestrian. She states she is feeling as good as ever, and doesn’t look too much into her upcoming birthday.
She has stated that she regularly goes to her dermatologist’s office for skin treatments, and it is obvious as her skin is as radiant as ever. When asked about these treatments, Brinkley said, “I also think there are so many other non-invasive choices that address sagging, wrinkling and discoloration. I go to my dermatologist about once a month and get special facials. I like modern-technology stuff.” We definitely agree that non-invasive facial treatments can help one maintain their skin until the time is right for surgery. When people take care of their skin through products, treatments, and wearing SPF, they are able to delay the surgery process much longer than a patient who has not done these things.
The reason people often times change their opinion about plastic surgery later in life is because they are able to “put it off” for years with non-surgical cosmetic treatments. There does come a time when the only way to significantly turn back the clock is through surgery, and if someone truly wants to take years off their appearance, they must ultimately opt for surgery. When considering plastic surgery, it is always important to consult with a board certified plastic surgeon who is thoroughly trained and experienced in the surgery to be performed.
